The chances of start-up success can be greatly enhanced by having the right people on your team. But when talent is in short supply how do you find that dream team? Recruitment consultants Bailey Fisher have some suggestions.

The key factor behind many a successful business has been the management team supporting it and there is an old investment cliché that investors invest in three things, management, management and management! Whilst this is an exaggeration, it does emphasise the key nature of leadership and management skills in achieving success and therefore in attracting investment for future growth.

Successful new ventures are unlikely to succeed without clear and energetic leadership. However, the leader does not have to do everything! He or she should choose other team members who can compliment his or her skills, but this is where one of the first hurdles arises. Being able to identify these potential leaders can be as difficult, if not more so, than developing and growing the business and its product.
