The chances of start-up success can be greatly enhanced by having
the right people on your team. But when talent is in short supply
how do you find that dream team? Recruitment consultants Bailey
Fisher have some suggestions.
The key factor behind many a successful business has been the management
team supporting it and there is an old investment cliché that investors
invest in three things, management, management and management! Whilst
this is an exaggeration, it does emphasise the key nature of leadership
and management skills in achieving success and therefore in attracting
investment for future growth.
Successful new ventures are unlikely to succeed without clear and
energetic leadership. However, the leader does not have to do everything!
He or she should choose other team members who can compliment his
or her skills, but this is where one of the first hurdles arises.
Being able to identify these potential leaders can be as difficult,
if not more so, than developing and growing the business and its
product.
